Yes, I’m still writing the book.
Yes, I passed my second self-imposed deadline a very, very long time ago.
What can I say? I’ve been busy! Vegas, Derbyshire and now moving house. Which is gradually moving along – had a couple of viewings today which seemed to go OK, another couple tomorrow. Fingers crossed that somebody wants our house!
Anyway, I have been writing still and this last couple of weeks I’ve really started to ramp things up again. I’ve broken through the 130k mark and I’m nearing the end of Part 3. Part 4 is the climactic battle, so should be a) shorter and b) easier to write that the previous parts. Then there’s a little epilogue bit on the end, and then…it’s done!
Exciting stuff, to be at the battle at last. I’ve changed the structure of Part 4 around quite considerably and I’m not 100% sure it’s going to work, but we shall see. Once the first complete draft is done I’m going to go back immediately and re-write the early chapters to make sure Tarn’s appearance in the story makes sense with regard to some of the latter changes I’ve made, then I’m going to take a break for a while before doing a third draft, at which point I’ll distribute to some willing victims.
Gettting there.

Sounds like you’re getting there, albeit at a slower pace than you initially intended. Hopefully going through and rewriting the earlier parts won’t be too painful. Writing the battle bit sounds like it’ll be fun – depends who going to bite the dust.
Cheers,
James
