This is more like it. I feel like I’m actually getting somewhere now – still not fast enough, mind you, but I can feel the momentum building. Plus the appraisal is done with (and seemed to go positively), so my evenings can now focus on Evinden more fully. Of course, life is always trying to get in the way, as I’ve mentioned before, and we have friends staying this weekend. Great to see them, of course, but not conducive to lots of writing!
Nonetheless, it creeps onwards towards the big 100,000. I never really thought Evinden would grow to this kind of size, although I also wouldn’t be surprised to see it shrink by the time I finish editing.
Curiously I’m at a place in the story both thematically and plot-wise which mirrors quite closely the current events on Battlestar Galactica. Interesting, given that I had these plot events worked out many years ago. What a coincidence that I’d be writing this chapter at the same time the colonists have discovered the fate of Earth? Still, it’s certainly helping me to ‘get in the mood’.
31 days to go.

the big 100k! something magical about cracking that number. Now, for someone a bit more poetical like me, that just seems like an insane endeavour 🙂
ever thought about promoting your stuff through an audio book? seen some great stories over at podiobooks. Some even make the transition to real world publishing (eg Scott Sigler, JC Hutchins).
I’ve had some wonderful hours of entertainment hearing the authors dramatize their own works.
hope the novel gets done. Nothing like a personal achievement under the belt.
salut!

Thanks for the encouragement, ggw_bach! It seems like a pretty insane endeavour to me, as well. I think I’ll go for something somewhat more manageable for Book 2. 😉
An audio book would be fantastic, especially with actors performing the dialogue. You never know!
